Driven by Crush's exploration of love and heartache, my main focus was the translation of thematic tension into visual contrast. With the foundation of transparent floral overlay and light purple hues against vintage photography, I highlighted the symbolism between innocence and deep emotion. Compositionally, I prioritized negative space and scale to establish the title as the focal point; by deliberately positioning the text to obstruct the figures' faces, the layout creates a visual metaphor for the emotional barriers and vulnerability central to Richard Siken’s poetry.
