hi, i'm smeera!
I’m a senior studying Design, Innovation & Society at UW-Madison. I take a multifaceted approach to design, specializing in graphic design and life-centered solutions that support clarity, access, and connection.
I currently work as a Design Research Associate at UW–Madison and as a Web Designer with Design Interactive.
Beyond these roles, my work spans disciplines including graphic design, marketing, civic design research, fabrication, and photography. This multidisciplinary practice allows me to bring people together through thoughtful design systems and processes.

how i work
Across mediums, specifically graphic design, I focus on bringing people together through clear, creative visual storytelling.
At UW-Madison, my work with Design Interactive shapes this practice. As former Director of Marketing for a community of over 100 members and an audience of 400+ followers, I led visual communication for events and opportunities, with several campaigns reaching 4,000–8,000 views. I now apply these skills toward designing web experiences that encourage engagement and support a growing online community.
At the S M Sehgal Foundation, I used visual storytelling to communicate community-based work across audiences, creating partner posters, logos, social media content, and process-focused materials that supported both external outreach and internal alignment.
